St. Johns County Man Arrested on Two Counts of Lewd or Lascivious Molestation

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla.—The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office (SJSO) has arrested Ed Thomson, 58, following an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse spanning years and involving two victims.

The investigation began in December 2024 when an initial victim came forward to report a delayed incident of sexual abuse. That victim documented years of inappropriate touching and behavior by Thomson.

During the course of the investigation, detectives identified a second victim who also detailed a long history of sexual abuse.

Detectives executed a search warrant at Thomson’s home on October 30th, seizing numerous electronic devices as evidence. Thomson was arrested and booked into the St. Johns County Jail, where he is currently being held on no bond for:

  • Lewd or Lascivious Molestation (2 counts)

The SJSO urges anyone with information related to Thomson’s crimes, or anyone who believes they may be a victim, to contact the Sheriff’s Office immediately at crimetips@sjso.org or call the non-emergency line at (904) 824-8304.
