82-Year-Old Woman Killed in Lake City Crash, Police Investigating

Lake City, Fla. – On Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at approximately 1:10 p.m., officers with the Lake City Police Department responded to a serious vehicle crash on North Marion Avenue near the intersection of NW Long Street.

When officers arrived, they found a 2022 Honda Odyssey that had collided with a concrete power pole, suffering heavy front-end damage. The driver, an 82-year-old woman, was treated at the scene by Columbia County Emergency Medical Services before being airlifted to a trauma center, where she later died from her injuries. Her name has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.

Investigators documented significant impact damage to both the vehicle and roadway. During the on-scene investigation, North Marion Avenue was temporarily closed in both directions but has since reopened.

“Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the driver during this difficult time,” said Lake City Police Chief Gerald Butler. “We appreciate the patience of our citizens while officers and emergency personnel worked to safely investigate and clear the scene.”

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Lake City Police Department.
