JSO Arrests Two Felons After Detectives Seize Large Cache of Drugs and Guns in Royal Terrace

Two convicted felons in Jacksonville are facing a new slate of charges after a narcotics investigation led detectives to a major drug stash inside a home in the Royal Terrace neighborhood. According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, detectives began looking into suspected drug activity at a house on Paris Avenue last month. After gathering enough evidence, they obtained a search warrant and executed it with help from the SWAT team.

Inside the home, investigators recovered a substantial amount of illegal drugs, including 14.2 grams of fentanyl, which police noted is enough to potentially kill more than 7,000 people. Detectives also seized over 645 grams of powder cocaine, 153 grams of crack cocaine, nearly 30 pounds of marijuana, and more than 280 grams of marijuana wax. Officers additionally recovered three handguns, an assault rifle, and more than six thousand dollars in cash.

Police arrested 34-year-old Devin Luster and 44-year-old Curtis Smith during the operation. Both now face multiple felony charges connected to the drugs and weapons found in the home.

JSO encouraged residents to report suspicious drug activity to help stop similar operations in local neighborhoods.
