Flagler County Deputy Suspended Following Domestic Battery Arrest

FLAGLER COUNTY, FL – A member of the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office has been suspended after being arrested overnight in Daytona Beach on a misdemeanor domestic battery charge.

Detention Deputy First Class Sara Radford, who has served with the FCSO since August 2011 and was named Detention Deputy of the Year in 2022, was immediately suspended without pay pending the outcome of the criminal case.

According to Chief of Staff Mark Strobridge, both Radford and the alleged victim were reportedly intoxicated while celebrating the New Year when an argument occurred, resulting in the arrest. “Sheriff Rick Staly expects our employees to follow the law and conduct themselves in a manner that represents this agency well, even when they are off duty,” Strobridge said.

The sheriff’s office stated that the criminal justice process will proceed normally, and once the case concludes, the FCSO Professional Standards Unit will conduct an internal review.
