PENSACOLA, Fla. – Authorities in the Florida Panhandle have arrested two men as part of ongoing efforts to crack down on sexual offenders and individuals involved in child exploitation crimes.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) announced the arrests of Daquan Eric Ball, 22, of McDavid, and Jordan Quinones, 29, of Pensacola. The cases stem from cybertips provided by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and are tied to FDLE’s statewide initiative targeting those who prey on children or possess and share material depicting child sexual abuse.
Ball, a registered sexual offender, faces 14 counts of failure to report an email address or internet identifier, a violation of Florida’s strict registration requirements for sexual offenders. FDLE agents executed a search warrant at his residence on January 28, seizing his cell phone. A preliminary forensic review uncovered 14 unreported accounts and identifiers, including profiles on TikTok, Discord, Adult Friend Finder, and FeetFinder.com.
Ball was taken into custody following the search and booked into the Escambia County Jail.
In a separate investigation, Quinones, also a registered sexual offender, was arrested on February 2 on a federal charge of possession of obscene visual representation of the sexual abuse of children. FDLE’s probe showed he had failed to report four email addresses and five online accounts, which he later disclosed to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office after questioning.
A forensic examination of his electronic device uncovered hundreds of files containing computer-generated child sexual abuse material. A federal grand jury indicted him on January 21, leading to his arrest with assistance from the United States Marshals Service. He was transported to the Santa Rosa County Jail.
Ball’s case is being handled by the Office of the State Attorney for the First Judicial Circuit, while Quinones faces prosecution through the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Florida.
Both investigations remain active.
