Two Arrested in String of Armed Robberies Across Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two men are behind bars after a series of armed robberies targeting multiple businesses across Jacksonville over a 10-day period, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said the suspects followed a similar pattern in each incident, waiting until a cashier was alone before striking. The suspects then held victims at gunpoint, emptied cash registers, and used pepper spray before fleeing the scene.

Authorities said the robberies occurred at several stores throughout the city, with employees threatened and assaulted during the incidents.

Detective Raquel Anderson with the Robbery and Violent Crimes Unit led the investigation. Officials said she reviewed hours of surveillance footage, tracked leads, and worked with the Real Time Crime Center to identify key evidence that helped connect the cases.

That investigation led to the arrests of 25-year-old Richard King and 38-year-old James Weaver, who now face multiple counts of armed robbery. Both suspects remain in the Duval County Jail.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office also recognized Anderson for her work on the case, naming her one of the agency’s Detectives of the Month. Officials credited her efforts with helping bring the investigation to a close and improving public safety in the community.
