Man Arrested After Stabbing During Fight in St. Augustine

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — A man has been arrested following a stabbing that occurred during a multi-person fight Wednesday, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded on April 1 to South Woodlawn Street after receiving reports of a fight involving several individuals and a stabbing. Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from a stab wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit determined that the suspect, identified as 37-year-old Alton Farrell Hobbs, allegedly pulled a knife during the altercation and stabbed the victim.

Hobbs was taken into custody and charged with Violation of Probation, Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon, and Affray.

Authorities said Hobbs has a prior arrest history in Putnam County that includes charges related to battery, aggravated battery, burglary, and drug equipment.

The investigation remains ongoing.
