BUNNELL, FL — A 48-year-old Palm Coast man will never draw a breath as a free man again after a Flagler County jury convicted him of a massive list of sexual offenses against a child. Kristopher Henriqson was sentenced on April 15, 2026, to multiple life sentences plus an additional 15 years in state prison.
The sentence, handed down by Circuit Judge Dawn Nichols, ensures that Henriqson will remain behind bars for the rest of his life.
A Mountain of Convictions
The conviction followed a specialized investigation by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) Major Case Unit, which began in early 2025. The jury found Henriqson guilty on 11 separate felony counts involving a juvenile family member:
- 2 counts of sexual battery on a person less than 12 years old.
- 4 counts of lewd or lascivious molestation on a person less than 12 years old.
- 3 counts of sexual battery on a person 12 to 18 by a person in familial/custodial authority.
- 1 count of lewd or lascivious battery (victim 12–16).
- 1 count of lewd or lascivious molestation (victim 12–16).
Strong Words from Leadership
Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly, known for his direct stance on child predators, did not mince words regarding the severity of the case and the trauma inflicted on the victim.
“I said back when he was arrested this dirtbag deserved the death penalty, and I still believe that would have been a fitting penalty based on the horrifying abuse he committed,” Sheriff Staly stated. “I commend the jury for seeing through his antics… and I commend this child for having the strength to come forward.”
Next Steps
Henriqson is currently being held at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility while he awaits transfer to the Florida Department of Corrections to begin his life sentences.
Under Florida law, sentences for these specific “Capital” and “Life” felonies do not allow for the possibility of parole, meaning the “plus 15 years” added by the judge serves as a symbolic and legal reinforcement that Henriqson will never be released.
