Drug Raid at Leesburg ‘Carwash’ Leads to Arrests, Seizure of Cocaine, Fentanyl and Firearms

LEESBURG, Fla. — A narcotics search at a location known as “The Carwash” in Leesburg led to the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of multiple drugs and firearms, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives with the Special Investigations Bureau executed a search warrant at 1645 Veech Road on April 23rd, a site authorities described as a fake business used for drug activity. The Lake County SWAT Team secured the scene before investigators conducted a search of the property.

During the search, deputies recovered cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, cannabis and multi-colored pills initially believed to be ecstasy but later identified as methamphetamine. Investigators also found drug paraphernalia and two firearms, including one reported stolen in Leesburg in October 2025.

Authorities said the total seized included approximately 2 ounces of cocaine, 1.5 ounces of crack cocaine, 14 grams of methamphetamine, 4 grams of fentanyl, about 30 pills and 1 pound of cannabis.

The location had previously been linked to a 2021 homicide investigation that resulted in a murder conviction, officials said.

Two individuals were arrested as a result of the investigation. Dara Ostane faces charges including armed trafficking in cocaine, possession of cannabis over 20 grams with intent to sell, possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of drug paraphernalia. Authorities noted Ostane was recently released from prison after serving more than 22 years for a 1999 homicide in Lake County. He is being held without bond.

Steve Roberts was also arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of fentanyl with intent to sell, possession of cannabis with intent to sell, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is also being held without bond.

Detectives from the Clermont, Eustis, Groveland and Leesburg police departments assisted in the investigation, which remains ongoing.
