OCALA, Fla. — Two owners of an Ocala RV dealership have been charged following a financial crimes investigation that uncovered alleged fraud involving more than two dozen customers, according to the Ocala Police Department.
The investigation focused on Village RV on South Pine Avenue and its owners, 65-year-old Anthony Piccone and his 31-year-old son, Drake Piccione.
According to police, the investigation began in August 2024 after a victim reported being defrauded of money and an RV. As detectives continued their investigation, more than two dozen additional victims came forward with similar complaints.
Victims reported a range of issues, including unpaid RV consignments, unreturned deposits, missing titles, bank loans that were allegedly never paid off, and recreational vehicles that were sold without proper paperwork.
Detectives determined that customer funds were allegedly misused and spent on personal expenses, including travel, luxury vehicles and entertainment.
Based on the findings of the investigation, Detective Demary established probable cause to charge both Anthony Piccone and Drake Piccione with organized fraud exceeding $50,000.
Police said the charges include enhanced penalties because elderly victims were among those affected.
The investigation remains active, and the Ocala Police Department is asking anyone with information related to the case to contact investigators.
