HOMOSASSA, Fla. — A narcotics investigation in Homosassa resulted in the seizure of more than a pound of methamphetamine and the arrests of three individuals following the execution of a search warrant, according to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office.

On June 8, 2026, the Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on West Beaumont Lane in Homosassa as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.

When detectives entered the home, they located 52-year-old Christopher Coppolino inside. Investigators said additional narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered during the search.

Earlier in the investigation, SIU detectives conducted a traffic stop involving a vehicle driven by 49-year-old Anthony Hlavaty with 38-year-old Michael Finn Jr. as a passenger. K-9 Recon was deployed and alerted to the presence of narcotics.

A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the seizure of approximately 1.34 pounds of methamphetamine, according to authorities.

Detectives also recovered 6.9 grams of crack cocaine and paraphernalia associated with methamphetamine use and distribution during the investigation.

Coppolino was arrested on three active warrants for trafficking methamphetamine and additionally charged with conspiracy to traffic methamphetamine, possession of crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Finn was charged with trafficking methamphetamine involving 400 grams or more and tampering with evidence.

Hlavaty was charged with driving while his license was suspended.

“Drug trafficking doesn’t just affect individuals, it impacts entire neighborhoods and families,” Sheriff David Vincent said. “Our detectives work tirelessly to stop these operations because every arrest helps protect the safety, stability, and well-being of our community.”

All three suspects were taken into custody as the investigation continues.
