42-Year-Old Orlando Resident Arrested on 51 Counts of Child Abuse Material Possession

ORLANDO, FL — A 42-year-old Orlando man has been arrested on more than 50 felony counts after a months-long digital investigation revealed he was using a virtual private network (VPN) to download and possess child sexual abuse material and animal cruelty media, police announced.

Armondo Dwayne Figueroa was taken into custody on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, by the Orlando Police Department’s Fugitive Unit. He faces 51 counts of Possession of Material Depicting the Sexual Performance of a Child and two counts of Animal Cruelty for possessing images or videos of animal sexual activity.

Digital Obstacles and Months of Cyber-Tracking

The criminal investigation began in October 2025 when OPD’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit intercepted multiple cyber-tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). The tips flagged illicit files linked directly to a Google account.

Detectives quickly ran into digital roadblocks. To hide his physical location and identity, the suspect utilized a VPN to mask his IP address.

Over the next several months, cyber-crimes investigators drafted and executed numerous legal subpoenas and multiple digital search warrants, methodically peeling back the layers of network encryption. This painstaking forensic tracking eventually unmasked Figueroa as the account owner and compiled the evidence needed to secure an arrest warrant.

Statement from the Department: In a statement accompanying the arrest announcement, the Orlando Police Department emphasized its intolerance for exploitation:

“Those who exploit children and other vulnerable victims have no place in our community. Our investigators remain committed to identifying those who exploit others, building strong cases, and ensuring they are held accountable under the law.”

Figueroa was transported to the Orange County Booking and Receiving Center following his arrest.
