LAKE CITY, Fla. – A Lake City man was arrested Thursday after police say he exposed himself to women in two separate business parking lots within a two-hour period.
According to the Lake City Police Department, officers first responded at approximately 8:29 a.m. on Aug. 6 to the Lake City Commons shopping center after a woman reported seeing a man exposing himself outside the Publix store.
The victim provided officers with a description of the suspect, his white pickup truck and its license plate. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.
At approximately 10:40 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Walmart at 2767 W. U.S. Highway 90 after receiving a similar complaint.
When officers arrived, they located 54-year-old Clarence Jennings Hall of Lake City sitting inside a white Chevrolet Silverado.
According to police, a woman reported that Hall exposed himself and performed a sexual act while staring at her.
After being advised of his Miranda rights, Hall admitted to the conduct at Walmart and also admitted his involvement in the earlier incident at Lake City Commons, according to investigators.
Both victims provided sworn statements and requested that criminal charges be filed.
Hall was arrested and charged with two counts of exposure of sexual organs. He was transported to the Columbia County Detention Facility without incident.
“The prompt actions of both victims allowed our officers to connect these incidents and identify the person responsible,” Police Chief Gerald Butler said. “We encourage anyone who witnesses this type of behavior to move to a safe location, document any identifying information, and contact law enforcement immediately.”
