Jacksonville Beach Police Recover Stolen E-Bike, Arrest Man Wanted for Failing to Register as Sex Offender

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – A man accused of stealing an electric bicycle in Jacksonville Beach was arrested after officers tracked him down and recovered the stolen bike, police said.

Christopher T. Neibert was arrested in connection with a grand theft investigation involving a Lectric e-bike, according to the Jacksonville Beach Police Department.

The investigation involved patrol officers and Downtown CAPE officers, with assistance from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Police said Officer C. Ingle developed information during the investigation that led officers to Neibert.

With assistance from JSO, Ingle located Neibert and recovered the stolen e-bike. The bicycle was returned to its owner.

Neibert was arrested on the outstanding grand theft charge.

During the encounter, authorities also determined Neibert had an outstanding warrant for failure to register as a sex offender. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office arrested him on that warrant.

Police did not disclose when or where the e-bike was stolen, its value or the circumstances surrounding the theft.
