ORLANDO, Fla. – A 26-year-old man has been arrested on an attempted murder charge after authorities say he shot at a woman inside the Orange County Courthouse parking garage Wednesday, forcing court operations to halt for several hours.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as Kenneth Jerome Logan Jr., 26.
Deputies said the woman targeted in the shooting was not injured. Authorities described Logan as a known suspect and spent several hours searching for him before taking him into custody Thursday afternoon.
The sheriff’s office has not released details about what led to the shooting or explained the relationship between Logan and the woman. Several of the charges filed against him are designated as domestic violence offenses.
Logan faces charges of attempted first-degree murder with a firearm, two counts of aggravated battery with a firearm involving domestic violence, armed burglary of a conveyance with a firearm, burglary of a conveyance with assault or battery, robbery with a firearm, aggravated stalking involving domestic violence, false imprisonment with a weapon and domestic violence battery.
Authorities did not provide details about the incidents underlying each of those charges or say whether all stem directly from Wednesday’s shooting at the courthouse garage.
The shooting occurred Sept. 23 inside the parking garage at the Orange County Courthouse in downtown Orlando. The law enforcement response and subsequent investigation disrupted courthouse operations for several hours.
No additional injuries were reported.
