Single engine plane makes emergency landing on Pecan Park Road

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – According to Officials Jacksonville International Airport, a single-engine Cessna 172 had to make an emergency landing on Pecan Road Park right next to JIA after experiencing a mechanical failure.

Three passengers were on-board the plane, two students and a flight instructor.

The plane was able to land safely, and no passengers were injured.

A portion of Pecan Park Road North will be closed for several hours.

A crew from the St. Augustine is coming in to remove the plane.

According to Flightaware.com, the plane took off from Atlanta Speedway Airport at 6:06 a.m. and landed in Jacksonville at 8:32 a.m.
