It will be a steamy hot day with showers and thunderstorms holding off until after 3 pm in the afternoon. Rain will increase into the early evening hours today with the heaviest storm coverage around I-95 and the beaches. Rain lingers through 10 pm especially around areas in southern Georgia.
We have seen 12 days of above average temps in the mid 90s and this trend is not fading.
Highs will hit near 96 with heat index values rising to 100-105 degrees. Overnight low temperatures will drop down into the mid to upper 70s.
