Manhunt Ends in Arrest for Attempted Murder in Nassau County Stabbing

A 45-year-old man, Ryan Daniel Nave, has been arrested by the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office and faces second-degree attempted murder charges following a violent incident Wednesday night.

Deputies responded to a 911 call on Robinhood Drive around 3:00 p.m. after a witness discovered a 53-year-old victim unconscious and bleeding inside a residence. Investigators determined that the attack followed an altercation between Nave and the victim, who knew each other.

The victim was found with nine stab wounds and was transported to a local hospital, where they remain in critical condition.

Nave fled the scene, prompting an extensive seven-hour manhunt involving air support and K9 units. He was apprehended at approximately 10:00 p.m. on Hirth Road, about one mile from the crime scene, after a citizen reported seeing him.

“Violence of any kind will not be tolerated in our community,” stated Sheriff Bill Leeper. “I want to thank our deputies and detectives for their tireless efforts in apprehending the suspect and holding him accountable for his actions, as well as our citizens for being on the lookout for suspicious persons and assisting law enforcement.”
