CLAY COUNTY, FL — A 34-year-old math teacher and athletics coach at a Jacksonville private school is facing more than 50 criminal counts after an investigation revealed he allegedly posed as a student to harass a 12-year-old girl with explicit content. Johnny Robinson III, an employee of Temple Christian Academy, was arrested Wednesday, April 15, 2026, and remains in the Clay County Jail on a bond exceeding $375,000.
Digital Deception and Persistence
The investigation was launched in December 2025 when a 12-year-old girl reported to a School Resource Officer that she was being targeted with sexually explicit messages and images. According to investigators:
- The Ruse: Robinson allegedly represented himself as a fellow student and gained the victim’s trust by naming her real-life friends and classmates.
- The Tactics: The suspect used Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone numbers to send the messages. VoIP technology allows users to communicate via the internet, making it easier to hide one’s true identity.
- The Persistence: Every time the victim attempted to block a number, Robinson would allegedly resume the harassment from a new, different number. The messages continued from November 2025 through January 2026.
Arrest and New Evidence
Detectives with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit successfully traced the digital trail back to Robinson. Following his initial arrest for Transmission of Harmful Material to a Minor and Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device, detectives performed a forensic examination of his cell phone.
On April 16, authorities added dozens of additional charges after discovering multiple images of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) on his device.
School Response and Immediate Termination
Temple Christian Academy released a statement confirming that Robinson was immediately fired upon notification of the investigation. The school emphasized that they have been assured the current allegations do not involve any of their students.
“Late Wednesday evening, we were notified that one of our teachers had been arrested. As a result, their employment with our school has been terminated… The situation is now in the hands of the proper authorities.”
