PENSACOLA, FL — A 38-year-old Beulah man was arrested Tuesday after an investigation revealed he was allegedly using artificial intelligence to generate child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Tyler Michael Vanover faces nine felony charges following a digital probe that began earlier this year.
The arrest was part of a statewide Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) initiative and involved a high degree of digital forensic work.
AI-Generated Exploitation
The investigation was triggered in January 2026 after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) issued 47 “Cybertips” regarding child pornography images uploaded to a generative AI platform. FDLE agents traced the associated IP address to Vanover’s residence on Fort Deposit Drive.
According to the arrest report, Vanover admitted during an interview with investigators that he had a “sick” addiction to pornography that led him to use Grok AI to generate illegal material. While Vanover claimed he requested images of individuals aged 16 to 20, he admitted the AI application frequently produced images of much younger children.
Forensic Discovery and Confession
On April 28, 2026, agents from the FDLE, Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, FBI, and Homeland Security Investigations executed a search warrant at Vanover’s home. A forensic review of his laptop on the scene reportedly uncovered:
- Digital Files: Several images depicting a nude female estimated to be between 9 and 11 years old.
- AI Integration: Evidence of the generative AI application used to manipulate and create the material.
Vanover reportedly provided a full confession to his online activities and the use of AI tools to enhance his collection.
Charges and Prosecution
Vanover has been charged with:
- 8 Counts: Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Materials
- 1 Count: Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device
He was booked into the Escambia County Jail. While initially held on no bond, court records indicate a bond was later set at $150,000. The case is being prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney for the 1st Judicial Circuit.
