RACELAND, LA — A 62-year-old higher education human resources employee was arrested in Louisiana following an undercover online sting operation orchestrated by Florida law enforcement. Eddie Filce, of Raceland, faces a string of felony charges after allegedly sending explicit material to an agent posing as a child.
Filce is charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious exhibition, five counts of transmission of material harmful to minors, five counts of harmful communication with a minor, and one count of use of a computer to solicit certain illegal acts.
Undercover Cyber Sting
The investigation was launched in early April 2026 by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) as part of its ongoing statewide initiative targeting internet crimes against children.
During an undercover online chat operation, FDLE agents interacted with an adult male who was transmitting explicit messages, photos, and videos. The recipient of the material was an undercover agent portraying an underage juvenile.
Investigators tracked the digital signature of the communication and identified the suspect as Filce, who is employed in the human resources department for the Board of Regents for Higher Education.
Multi-State Arrest and Extradition
Because Filce was located out of state, FDLE investigators coordinated with Louisiana authorities to execute an arrest warrant. On May 5, 2026, the Louisiana State Police apprehended Filce without incident.
He was booked into the Terrebonne Parish Jail, where he is currently being held on an $85,000 bond while awaiting formal extradition back to Florida to face trial.
Prosecution and Ongoing Review
The case falls under Florida jurisdiction because the undercover operation was managed by Florida agents. Attorney General James Uthmeier’s Office of Statewide Prosecution will handle the legal proceedings.
The investigation remains active.
