On January 21, 2025, the community marks the 35th anniversary of the tragic loss of Teryl Orcutt, whose life was taken far too soon. On January 21, 1990, Teryl’s 1989 Red Ford Thunderbird was found abandoned on County Road 218 in Middleburg. Just days later, on January 28, her body was discovered on S. Lee Drive in Middleburg.
Despite the passage of time, investigators remain dedicated to finding answers and pursuing justice for Teryl. The investigation into her death continues, with ongoing reviews of key evidence and advancements in forensic science. Law enforcement hopes that new scientific developments will shed light on the circumstances surrounding her death.
