Neptune Beach Woman Arrested in Vehicle Burglary and Package Theft Case

On June 1, 2025, a Neptune Beach resident reported an overnight vehicle burglary. Later that day, police received reports of stolen packages from a nearby porch and an attempted bicycle theft at a third location. Surveillance video captured the suspects in the act.

Neptune Beach Police Department investigators linked the incidents and identified a suspect. On June 5, 2025, officers from the Patrol and Criminal Investigations Divisions arrested Kaitlyn Thurston at her residence after she confessed to the crimes. The stolen items were recovered and returned to the victims.

Thurston was booked into the Duval County Jail on the following charges:

  • Theft From Dwelling or Unenclosed Curtilage – $40 to Less Than $750 (F3)
  • Burglary of Conveyance Not Occupied – No Assault/Battery, No Weapon (F3)

The investigation is ongoing.
