INVERNESS, Fla. — On Wednesday, July 30, 2025, Citrus County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a weapons incident along East Anna Jo Drive. Upon arrival, 19-year-old Malik Savion Williams of Inverness fled on foot while holding what was later identified as a 9mm handgun. He was quickly apprehended.
Deputies determined that Williams had aimed the firearm at an 18-year-old male and pulled the trigger. The victim reported hearing a “click,” and a live round was later found in the chamber of the recovered weapon. Witnesses and video evidence supported the victim’s account.
The incident reportedly began after the victim’s 14-year-old brother confronted Williams about his behavior toward their 16-year-old sister. A physical confrontation followed, leading to Williams allegedly drawing the firearm and pointing it at the victim.
Williams was arrested and charged with:
- Attempted First Degree Murder with a Firearm
- Resisting an Officer without Violence
He was transported to the Citrus County Detention Facility and is being held without bond.
