First Female Inmate Graduates Walton County Jail CDL Program

WALTON COUNTY, FL – Ajiah Gee has made history as the first female inmate to graduate from the Walton County Jail CDL Program, successfully earning her Class A Commercial Driver’s License with no restrictions.

Obtaining a CDL in Florida requires rigorous preparation, including written exams, a road skills test, and demonstrating the ability to safely operate large commercial vehicles. Gee, 25, went even further by earning additional endorsements for Double/Triple Trailers (“T”) and Tankers (“N”).

Program instructor Tim Castiglione praised Gee’s dedication, noting her determination and perseverance throughout the training process.

The CDL program is fully funded through inmate welfare dollars and is designed to provide incarcerated individuals with practical skills that can be applied to future employment opportunities.

“Second chances matter. Every certificate, every license, and every step forward is a chance to choose a new path,” Walton County Jail officials said, reaffirming the program’s motto: Recovery, not recidivism.
