Washington County Man Arrested After Domestic Dispute Leads to 911 Call from Child

A Louisiana man was arrested in Washington County on Monday, November 10, after a domestic incident that began with a 911 call from a child reporting that her parents were fighting while driving on Highway 79.

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched after the child provided a vehicle description before the call was disconnected. While responding, a deputy spotted the vehicle traveling northbound on Highway 79 and attempted a traffic stop.

The driver, identified as Albert Dale Searcy, jumped from the moving vehicle as deputies approached. His wife, Heather Searcy, managed to crawl into the driver’s seat and bring the vehicle, occupied by their three children, to a stop.

Deputies observed visible injuries on Heather Searcy consistent with a physical altercation. She told investigators that her husband refused to let her and the children out of the vehicle and struck their child after realizing the 911 call had been made.

Emergency Medical Services evaluated and medically cleared all individuals at the scene.

Albert Searcy was arrested and booked into the Washington County Jail on multiple charges, including tampering with or harassing a witness, domestic violence battery, fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement, resisting arrest without violence, child abuse, false imprisonment, and driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Deputies noted the family had recently relocated from Louisiana and were returning there at the time of the incident.
