“When there’s potential for things to get out of hand in our community, we’re ready,” the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
Officials emphasized the operation was part of a proactive effort to prevent violence and maintain safety in public spaces.
“Please enjoy our beaches and public spaces, but don’t bring bad behavior, illegal weapons, or drugs,” the agency added.
The Jacksonville Beach Police Department also thanked partnering agencies for their coordinated efforts.
“This is what real partnership looks like,” the department said. “When agencies come together, we’re stronger, faster, and more effective.”
In addition to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, agencies assisting included the Neptune Beach Police Department, Atlantic Beach Police Department, St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, and Duval County School Board Police.
Authorities say the coordinated response is part of ongoing efforts to address large gatherings and ensure public safety.
