HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. — A narcotics investigation in Spring Hill led to the seizure of trafficking-level drugs and the arrest of two individuals following a SWAT-assisted search warrant.
On April 2, detectives with the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office Vice and Narcotics Unit, along with the SWAT Team, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 12300 block of Coronado Drive.
Authorities said the warrant was the result of an ongoing investigation into suspected drug trafficking activity by Michael Lynch, 43. Detectives conducted multiple undercover operations at the home prior to the raid.
Lynch was taken into custody without incident. A second individual, identified as 22-year-old Jada French, was also detained at the scene.
During the search, detectives recovered approximately 96.6 grams of methamphetamine, 1.2 grams of fentanyl, and 143.7 grams of promethazine hydrochloride without a prescription. Investigators also found ammunition inside the residence, despite Lynch being a convicted felon.
According to officials, Lynch admitted after being read his rights that the methamphetamine and ammunition belonged to him. He also stated the fentanyl belonged to French for personal use and acknowledged he did not have a prescription for the promethazine.
Lynch faces multiple charges, including trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, possession of a structure for drug trafficking, unlawful use of a communication device, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
French is charged with possession of fentanyl and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Lynch was initially held without bond due to the trafficking charges. French’s bond was set at $6,000.
Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Hernando County Crime Stoppers.
