JACKSONVILLE, FL — Detectives with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Special Assault Unit have arrested a 31-year-old man in connection with a series of violent attacks, including a knife assault that occurred while officers were actively on-scene investigating a previous crime.
Brett Wade Pincomb faces charges of Armed Sexual Battery, Kidnapping, and Attempted Murder. Following a confession in which he admitted to raping six victims at weapon-point, authorities are appealing to the public to identify additional potential survivors.
Escalating Violence and On-Scene Takedown
The initial breakthrough in the investigation occurred on May 15, 2026, when JSO officers responded to a Point Meadows apartment complex regarding a report of a woman attacked inside an elevator.
While patrol units and detectives were actively processing the scene and gathering evidence, a second woman was suddenly attacked nearby by a suspect wielding a knife. Officers immediately intervened, identifying and subduing Pincomb at the scene.
Serial Pattern Uncovered
Following his arrest, Special Assault Unit detectives launched a deeper dive into Pincomb’s history. Investigators determined that over the course of several months, Pincomb had routinely armed himself to target and sexually battery multiple women, with his behavior steadily escalating in physical violence.
During subsequent interviews with detectives, Pincomb confessed to the armed rapes of six different victims. Investigators revealed that his standard operating method frequently involved asking women to meet him at his personal condominium located in the Baymeadows area of Jacksonville before launching the assaults.
Call for Additional Victims
JSO emphasizes that their fight for justice is far from over, expressing deep concern that there may be other unidentified victims within the community.
“No matter the context of the meeting, if Pincomb attempted to commit or committed a violent crime, we want to bring you justice,” the Sheriff’s Office stated in a public alert. “Our detectives are here, and we want to help.”
Pincomb is currently being held in the Duval County Jail with a collective bond established at $750,000. The serial investigation remains active and ongoing as forensic units analyze digital evidence and physical property.
Anyone who believes they may have been targeted or assaulted by Pincomb is urged to bypass standard reporting channels and call the Special Assault Unit directly at 904-630-2168.
