Clay County Sheriff Seeks Public’s Help Identifying Man Accused of Grabbing Woman on Walking Trail

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help identifying a man accused of grabbing a woman while she was walking her dog in the Jennings Forest area.

According to investigators, the incident occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. on June 16, 2026, near Powell Ford Road.

Deputies said a woman in her 20s was taking her routine morning walk through Jennings Forest when an unknown man approached and grabbed her arm.

Fearing for her safety, the woman threw her backpack at the suspect while her dog intervened and scared the man away.

Investigators said the victim reported that her dog bit the suspect on his right arm during the encounter. As a result, authorities believe the man may have a noticeable injury to his forearm.

The woman was able to escape unharmed and immediately called 911. Patrol deputies and detectives responded to the area and launched an investigation.

The suspect is described as a white male believed to be in his 40s, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing between 200 and 215 pounds with a medium build. He reportedly has a salt-and-pepper beard with little or no mustache, scruffy hair, yellow teeth and a strong musty odor.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office has released a composite sketch of the suspect and is urging anyone who recognizes him to come forward.
