Man Arrested in Nassau County After Forensic Timeline Confirms Double Pregnancy of Exploited Minor

YULEE, FL — A 33-year-old man faces severe felony charges after a multi-agency, multi-year investigation utilizing DNA evidence confirmed he impregnated a juvenile victim on two separate occasions during an ongoing illicit relationship.

John Andrew Jones was taken into custody following a coordinated sweep by regional task forces and booked into the Nassau County Jail and Detention Center. Jones faces high-level felony counts, including Child Abuse and Impregnating a Child Under the Age of 16.

Long-Term Abuse Exposed by Prosecutors

The complex criminal investigation originally sparked to life on June 7, 2024, after an assistant state attorney intercepted indicators of a potential statutory sexual battery case involving Jones and a victim under the legal age of consent. The file was immediately transferred to specialized sex-crimes investigators.

As detectives dug into the timeline, they uncovered a disturbing pattern of long-term grooming and abuse. Investigators learned that Jones had engaged in an ongoing, continuous sexual relationship with the young victim that initially began in 2020.

Over the course of the illicit relationship, the victim became pregnant twice. She ultimately gave birth to her first child at age 16, and later gave birth to a second child at age 18. By mapping the human gestation timeline backward from the delivery records, detectives conclusively determined the victim was just 15 and 17 years old when the conceptions occurred, establishing definitive proof of statutory sexual battery on a minor.

Multi-State DNA Sweep Mandates Arrest

To solidify the case for a jury, investigators with the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office in Florida partnered with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) to bridge state lines. In December 2025, detectives executed specialized legal orders to secure physical DNA samples from Jones as well as both of the victim’s children.

The critical turning point in the prosecution came on March 30, 2026, when the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office received an official forensic laboratory report from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE). The genetic profiling returned a definitive match, confirming Jones as the biological father of both children.

Armed with the immutable FDLE lab results, detectives secured formal felony arrest warrants. Jones was tracked down, arrested without incident, and processed into the local detention infrastructure where he remains held pending his initial arraignment.
