GROVELAND, Fla. – A months-long narcotics investigation led to the arrest of a Groveland man after detectives seized trafficking quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl, multiple firearms and body armor during the execution of a search warrant, authorities said.
The investigation began in January 2026 when the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and the Groveland Police Department received complaints from concerned citizens and CrimeLine tips reporting suspected drug activity at a residence in the 100 block of Hidden Pointe Lane in Groveland.
As the investigation progressed, detectives with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Bureau developed probable cause and obtained a narcotics search warrant for the residence.
During the early morning hours of July 30, members of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Bureau, Groveland Police Department and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team executed the search warrant at the home.
Authorities said SWAT officers secured the residence while detectives from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Clermont Police Department, Eustis Police Department, Groveland Police Department and Leesburg Police Department conducted the search.
The primary suspect, 41-year-old Jason Allen Krueger, was detained without incident.
According to investigators, the search uncovered a trafficking quantity of methamphetamine, pre-packaged cocaine and crack cocaine, fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, two rifles, three shotguns, one handgun, a large quantity of ammunition and body armor inside Krueger’s bedroom.
Krueger was arrested and charged with:
- Armed Trafficking in Methamphetamine
- Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Sell
- Possession of Fentanyl
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
- Possession of a Bulletproof Vest During the Commission of a Felony
Authorities said Krueger was booked into the Lake County Jail and is being held without bond.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office said the no-bond hold was warranted because of the quantity of narcotics recovered, the number of firearms allegedly possessed by a convicted felon and the discovery of body armor during the search.
The investigation remains ongoing.
