Two juveniles were arrested in connection with a string of vehicle thefts and burglaries in Babcock Ranch after a detailed investigation by Charlotte County deputies. The investigation began on January 5, 2025, when a resident on Palmetto St. reported a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was found a few doors down with approximately 150 miles of gasoline used, and a strong smell of marijuana inside. Security footage from nearby homes revealed two suspects taking the vehicle around 8:30 p.m. and later parking it at a different address.
On January 10, 2025, deputies questioned three individuals at Jack Peeples Community Park after hours. Among them was 16-year-old Adam Giordano, who was later identified in relation to the crimes.
On January 11, another vehicle burglary was reported on Pinewood Bend, where the suspects attempted to enter a homeowner’s vehicle. A neighborhood canvas revealed multiple similar incidents, including a stolen white Chevrolet Suburban that had been returned with significant fuel loss and mud on it. Investigators also discovered a commercial burglary in Lee County, where a suspect broke into a gas station and stole vape products using the stolen Suburban.
Through further investigation, Giordano and another juvenile, 17-year-old Justen Bowles, were linked to both the vehicle burglaries and the Lee County crime. Giordano confessed to his involvement and identified Bowles as his accomplice. Both juveniles were arrested and are facing charges in Charlotte County and Lee County.
“I want to thank my detectives for their diligence in these cases, as well as the community who shared video that assisted with determining who committed these crimes. These young men made a series of poor choices and have unfortunately created a reputation for themselves that will last for a long, long time. I hope that they are able to get their minds right immediately. I really don’t want to see two young men throw their lives away with nonsense like this,” said Sheriff Bill Prummell.
