PALM COAST, Fla. — A 27-year-old Palm Coast man has been arrested on an aggravated child abuse charge after investigators say he stabbed a juvenile during a domestic violence incident Sunday evening.
Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded just before 6 p.m. on June 7 to a reported stabbing at a residence in the R-Section of Palm Coast.
When deputies arrived, they found a juvenile victim suffering from a deep stab wound to the thigh and multiple cuts to the chest. The victim was transported to AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway for treatment.
According to investigators, the stabbing occurred during a domestic altercation inside the residence. Deputies determined that a pair of scissors was used during the attack.
After the initial investigation, detectives with the Major Case Unit responded to interview those involved and collect evidence.
Authorities said Devroy Miller, 27, initially attempted to minimize the incident while speaking with detectives but later admitted that the stabbing had occurred. Investigators said Miller claimed he did not know what happened to the scissors after the incident.
Detectives later executed a search warrant at the residence and recovered seven pairs of scissors. According to the sheriff’s office, Miller was unable to identify which pair had been used in the stabbing.
Miller was arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse. He was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where he is being held without bond.
The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office also reported that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security determined Miller is removable from the United States. Federal authorities placed an immigration detainer on him, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is expected to pursue deportation proceedings following the resolution of his criminal case.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
