Teen Arrested in Fatal Shooting of 4-Year-Old at Orlando Apartment Complex

ORLANDO, Fla. – A teenager has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 4-year-old child at an Orlando apartment complex last month, police announced.

The Orlando Police Fugitive Task Force arrested 18-year-old Brandon Sir Nevaeh McCloud on the morning of Aug. 5 in connection with the child’s death.

The shooting occurred at approximately 11:34 a.m. on July 17 at the Stella West Apartments, located at 2611 Bent Willow Circle.

When officers arrived, they found a 4-year-old child suffering from a gunshot wound.

The child was transported to a local hospital, where they later died from their injuries.

Following an extensive investigation, Orlando Police detectives determined that McCloud was handling a firearm in a careless manner when the shooting occurred, resulting in the child’s death.

McCloud has been charged with one count of manslaughter under Florida law.

Police have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting or the relationship between McCloud and the child.

The investigation remains ongoing.
