Fugitive Child Sex Offender Apprehended in Okeechobee

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) arrested fugitive Travis Samuel Allen, 29, for failure to appear for trial on child sex abuse charges.

Allen was facing felony charges of lewd and lascivious battery and child abuse after impregnating a child under the age of 16. He was initially arrested by the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) in 2023 and placed on house arrest.

However, Allen absconded from house arrest in November 2024, prompting HCSO to request assistance from FDLE.

FDLE agents, working in collaboration with HCSO investigators, located Allen at a residence in Okeechobee. During the arrest, Allen attempted to flee the property but was apprehended.

Allen was booked into the Okeechobee County Jail and will be prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney, 20th Judicial Circuit.

The investigation remains active.
