Jacksonville International Airport Sets Record with 7.6 Million Passengers in 2024

Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) recorded its busiest year in history in 2024, with more than 7.6 million passengers traveling through the facility. The figure marks a 2.8 percent increase over 2023, which previously held the record at 7.4 million passengers.

“Our passenger volume continues to increase as Northeast Florida and the local economy grow,” Jacksonville Aviation Authority (JAA) CEO Mark VanLoh said. “Airlines have taken note, adding frequencies, cities and larger aircraft at JAX.”

In response to the continued growth, JAA has launched several major infrastructure projects, including the construction of Concourse B, which will add six new gates, expanded concessions, and additional passenger amenities. A third parking garage with approximately 2,000 new spaces is also under development. Both projects are expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2026. Additionally, an expanded security checkpoint with new screening technology and additional lanes opened in late 2023.

JAX is also set to welcome new airlines and expanded routes in 2025. Avelo Airlines will launch nonstop service to New Haven, Connecticut, on February 14, while Air Canada will introduce daily flights to Toronto starting May 23. Allegiant Airlines will expand year-round service to Akron/Canton, Des Moines, and Grand Rapids in May. Breeze Airways, which already operates at JAX, will also begin offering nonstop flights to New Haven.
