The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) has arrested two Branford men, Dakota James Allen, 20, and Chad Marcel Ducas, 33, in two unrelated criminal investigations involving the possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). The arrests are part of FDLE’s ongoing statewide initiative targeting individuals who exploit children and share illicit images online.
Allen faces 19 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material, one count of transmitting child sexual abuse material, and one count of unlawful use of a two-way communication device. Ducas is charged with 24 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material and two counts of unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
FDLE initiated both investigations in 2024 after receiving cybertips from the National Center for Missing and Endangered Children (NCMEC) regarding two distinct online accounts that had uploaded multiple files depicting the sexual abuse of children. Subsequent investigative and legal processes identified Allen and Ducas as the individuals associated with these accounts.
Allen was arrested at his Branford residence on April 9th and booked into the Suwannee County Jail. His case is being prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney, Third Judicial Circuit.
Ducas was arrested at his Branford residence on April 15th and booked into the Gilchrist County Jail. His case is being prosecuted by Attorney General James Uthmeier’s Office of Statewide Prosecution.
FDLE’s Live Oak Field Office, with the assistance of the Gainesville Police Department, is handling the investigation into Allen. FDLE Jacksonville, with the support of the Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office, is investigating Ducas. Both investigations remain active.
